26 Oct 1921 Crawfordsville Daily Journal p 1--Funeral services for the late Charles L. Owens were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home of his mother, Mrs. Marshall Owens, 806 E. College Street, Rev. DP Odell of the First Baptist Church conducted the services. Mrs. Fern Atkinson and Mrs. HH Elmore sang. The high esteem in which Charley Owens was held was evidenced by the number and beauty of the floral offerings; also by the number of friends and acquaintances attending the last rites. The flower bearers were Mrs. Hays Birst, Mrs. David Marks, Mrs. Ed Collins, Mrs. George Hurley, Mrs. A Bruggs and Mrs. v. Cockefair. THe honorary pall bearers were Henry Meister, Fred Hoover, William Birch, Mrs. David Marks, Mrs. Ed CLaude Reese. The pall bearers were George Hurley, Frank Hoover, Joe Marshall, Wallace Gray, Ernest Wray and Ed Colings.
