Crawfordsville Daily Journal 10-18-1921 - Ladoga Oct 18 -- Marinda Ellen Stark, daughter of WIlliam and Phoebe Stark died Saturday October 15 at the home of her son, Elmer, near Fincastle. Shew as born May 21, 1848, being 73 years old at the time of her death. The early days of her life were spent near Kokomo in Howard County until her marriage to Dr. John W. Sabin (sic) of Browns Valley Ind. To them was born one child, a son, John W. Jr., who died in August 1933. Dr. Sabin only lived one year after their marriage. She remained a widow until 1873, when she was united in marriage to Daniel Hays. To this union were born four sons: Raymond and Elmer of Fincastle; Thedore of Salt Lake City and Harry of Greencastle. She was left a widow again, her husband dying October 25, 1884. After the death of her second husband at Carle, Ind, she moved near Ladoga where she lived until 16 years ago, when she moved to Greencastle, living there until her death. She was a member of the Christian Church. Besides four sons she is survived by three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral was held at the Ladoga Christian Church Monday morning at 10:30, Rev. Smith officiating. John Kessler, Rev. Smith, Louise Myers and Carrie Robbins sang, My Faith Looks up to Thee, Nearer My God to Thee and Jesus Savior Pilot, Me. The burial was at Ladoga Cemetery.
