Crawfordsville Review Thursday, May 18, 1916 p 2 - Alamo, Ind May 17 - Relatives here have received word of the death of Mrs. Charles WESTFALL at the Central Hospital for the insane at Indianapolis. The body will be brought back to Waynetown on the evening train and will be taken to the home northeast of here. The message stated that Mrs. Westfall died suddenly but did not give the cause of the death. About a month ago, Mrs. Westfall attempted to end her life by taking carbolic acid because of ill health. Shortly after this she was taken to the Central Hospital and it was reported that her condition had been improving. The deceased was 48 years old and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Dietz of this place. She was married to William Westfall in 1886 and to this union, one daughter, Mrs. Carl Smith of Alamo was born. She was united with the 1st Presbyterian Church on March 1 1896 and since that time has always been one of the most faithful members. She is survived by her husband, Charles Westfall, one daughter, Mrs. Carl Smith, two sisters, Mrs. Martin Parrett and Mrs. Ed Bell all of Alamo, also two brothers, Bert Deitz of Alamo and James D Deitz of Jasper, Tenn. The funeral will be from the Methodist Church Friday afternoon and the services will be in charge of Rev. Tremain of Waynetown. Burial will be in the Alamo cemetery.
