Crawfordsville Journal-Review 12 Aug 1960 p 8 -- Mrs. Ione L. Trout, 95, died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Powers, 408 E. Jefferson St. She had made her home at the Powers Residence the past 2 1/2 years. Mrs. Trout was a member of a number of social and fraternal organizations. She was a member of the Montgomery County Home Econimcs Club & Flower Lovers Club. She was a life-time member of Merry Drifters and also was a member of OES 47 years, Art League, Busy Bunch & Forget-me-not Club. Before moving here she was a member of the Shannondale Presbyterian Church. She joined the Wabash avenue Presbyterian Church after moving here. Mrs. Trout was born April 23, 1865, 9 miles east of Crawfordsville, a daughter of Daniel and Sarah Hymer Shaver. She was one of 9 children. She married Sherman a. Trout in 1895. He died in 1933. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Bruce Luckett, 3 nephews, Robert Shaver; Noel Shaver and Jesse Caster , 5 nieces, Mrs. Willis Farris; Mrs. Claude Clark. Mrs. John Campbell, Mrs. Glen Saidla and Mrs. Forest Ward. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John DeKruyter Officiating. Interment will be in Oak hIll cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday.
