Mrs Valentine Stout -- anybody know her maiden name? Suzy MRS VALENTINE STOUT DIED TODAY AT NOON AT HOME OF DAUGHTER Death Follows Illness of Three Months — Had Been Active in Church Work for Many Years Mrs. Jennie Stout, wife of Valentine Stout of this city, died just before the noon hour today at the home of her daughter, Mrs John Servies, west of the city in the Black Creek neighborhood. Mrs Stout had been ill for three months following a stroke of paralysis. Her condition had been regarded as critical for several days and her death was not unexpected. Mrs. Stout was born in Ohio fifty-three years ago, but most of her life was spent in the county. She is survived by her mother, her husband, one son, Floyd, one daughter, Mrs Servies, two sisters, and two brothers. She had been a member of the United Brethren Church for years and was a true Christian woman, at all times active in church work. Arrangements for the funeral have not been made, but the services will probably be held Wednesday. John Servies, son -in -law of the deceased, is on his way home from the Mexican border, having just received a discharge from Company C. ~ Crawfordsville Journal; 21 Aug 1916; p1, col 6. **************New year...new news.
