Crawfordsville Journal Review, Monday, November 18, 1963, page 8 Lucy May Oliver Of Ladoga Dies Services Tuesday LADOGA- Mrs. Lucy May Oliver, 85, died at 8 p.m. Sunday at Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health since January of 1960. Mrs. Oliver who owned and operated the Cottage Hotel here many years, was a member of the Methodist Church and OES here. She was born July 14, 1878 in Taswell County, Va., daughter of Lee and Virginia Stevenson. She was married Oct. 7, 1900 in to Jesse Jackson Oliver. Surviving are a son Raymond E. of Ladoga, two daughters, Mrs. Jessie O. Jolliffe of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ruth O. Smith of Remington, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Verna Elliott and Mrs. Letha Peffley, both of Ladoga, three grandsons, Rich and M. Oliver of Crawfordsville, John E. Oliver of Ladoga and Airman 1 C Russell Jolliffe of Atigo, Wis., eight stepgrandchildren, 14 stepgreat-grandchildren and a stepgreat-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church here with Rev. Ray French and Rev. Lewis Crouch officiating. Burial will be in Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
