Redenbaugh is another family that did the same, coming from SE PA, having lived in (at least) Berks, Dauphin, and Northumberland Cos before Hamilton co OH. Henry and Margaret Redenbaugh bought land in Northumberland, improved it, and sold it back to one of two men they had bought it with.  With their profit they could finance their numerous children's purchases of less expensive land in Hamilton Co OH.    Their children moved north, west, and north west, with Frederick coming to Montgomery Co IN.  A brother came to Fountain at  the same time. I have wondered if there are more families with this pattern but haven't researched it.
