Crawfordsville Journal Review 23-May-1973 -- Mrs. Mary Edith Berger 77, a former speech teacher for the deaf, died May 14 in Community Hospital at Ottawa, Ill. Mrs. Berger was born at Crawfordsville Feb 25, 1896, daughter of James and Elizabeth Riley Lee. She married Hedley Berger at Flint MI in 1919. He and an infant son preceded her in death. She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Edward L. (Betty) Diederich; Mrs. Homer (Britta) Moore; and Andrea Berger of Seattle, WA; a sister, Mrs. John (Virginia) Dewey and 9 grandchildren. Private funeral services will be conducted by Hunt & Son Funeral Home on Saturday June 2. Interment will be in Oak HIll Cemetery.
