    3. Crawfordsville Weekly Journal 25 Jan 1918 p 2 -- Darlington, Jan 21 - Wade Hampton Booher, former postmaster here, died at 11 o'clock Saturday night as the result of exposure. Mr. Booher who resided 2 1/2 miles East of Darlington was found in a snow drift across the road from his home at 4:30 Saturday afternoon by a neighbor, Earl Woody. The latter succeeded in removing Mr. Booher to his home and called a physician. He was so badly frozen that medical assistance was without avail. He recovered consciousness long enough to say that he had ventured out in search of his wife. Later it was discovered that the latter was asleep in a spare room. Mrs. Booher who is several years older than herl ate husband is not in the best of physical condition and it was impossible to revive her before he expired. Mr. Booher was born Dec 16, 1835, two miles west of Darlington and was one of a family of nine boys and five girls, all of whom lived to be married and two Mrs. Lydia Barton of Lebanon and Ephraim R. Booher of Bowers survive him. He was raised on a farm subsequently became a grocer in Darlington and was postmaster for four years during Cleveland's second administration. He was a member of the Darlington Lodge F & AM and was a life long member of the St. James Lutheran Church. The funeral was (sic) held today at 2 p.m. from St. James Lutheran Church Rev. Edgar L. Williams pastor of the Presbyterian Church will (sic) officate and the funeral will be in charge of the Maosnic Lodge.
