Waynetown Masonic Cemetery Records, Crawfordsville District Public Library Website 1943 FORMER RESIDENT OF CITY EXPIRES IRVIN HAMM DIES IN LAPORTE HOSPITAL AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS Irvin Hamm, 35, a former resident of this city, died at a LaPorte hospital Thursday morning after a brief illness, according to word received here by relatives Thursday. Mr. Hamm was born in Waynetown, but had spent most of his life in Crawfordsville. He was a barber. He left Crawfordsville three years ago. His wife, two sons, Robert and Fred, one daughter, Betty Jo, and one sister, Mrs. George Douglas, of Crawfordsville, and a brother, Harold Hamm of Crawfordsville, survive. His father, Lonnie Hamm, of Catlin, Ill., also survives. Mr. Hamm was born March 13, 1908, the son of Lonnie and Mary Hamm, the mother preceding him in death in 1924. He was married to Inez Humphreys of this city on Aug. 20, 1928. He was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Proffitt & Sons mortuary, with the Rev. Russell Rice of Oxford officiating. Burial will be at Waynetown. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home as the body will be kept there preceding the rites.
