He was born in Aug 1893. The photographer business was Willis & McQuown. on the back of the picture is a hand written note (I assume by someone in the photographer business) "John Hedges 1/2 mile east of match factory Crawfordsville RFD No 9". Yes, the Willis is Nathaniel Parker Willis. His whole story is quite sad but he was a great photographer, winning many prizes. I'm not sure who the McQuown is -- about the only one in our area was James but in 1900 he is listed as a gardner and in 1880 I can't read what it says - teanking school (can't figure it out) & Farming but since he's the ONLY one I've found in the area it must be him.
