Yes, Clara Hunter married Howard Fruits, and had one daughter, then her daughter would be Martha Fruits not Hunter, only explanation I have for the article is that when Martha was only about four and a half when her mother died. Not guessing about her father, as to why, but Martha was in the census with her grandparents, So it looks like her grandparents raised her. Since the article was perhaps the slip of the tongue in saying they were married. Possible whomever reported in the paper, wither did not know the family well enough to put the correct maiden name. It is possible at times she used the Hunter name because she was living with James & Elizabeth Hunter. I guess I should have added a note at the bottom before posting.
