She was a member of Church of Christ. Born Jan 31, 1912 in Clay Co Tenn she was a daughter of Milton and Ethel Coons McCarter. She was married July 17, 1929 to Herbert York. He survives. Also surviving are five sons, Clifton and Roy of New Market; Harrison of Ladoga; Herschel of Rt 7, and Ernest of Syracuse, Utah; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Osborne of Crawfordsville; three brothers, Orin McCarter; J.C. McCarter and Willard McCarter all of Tennessee; four sisters, Pearl Knight of New Albany; Eunice Hole of Greenfield; Lucille Fisher and Mildred Uhlmer, both of Tennessee and 23 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, son, brother and sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Power Funeral Home at New Market with Gene Warman officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.
