    3. Crawfordsville Journal Review, 19-Oct-1960, 11: 3- Elizabeth Tate Succumbs At 87- Mrs. Elizabeth Tate, 87, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of a son, Charles Tate of Rt. 3 Rockville. She had lived there the past 10 years and had been in failing health about one year. Born Jan. 25, 1873, near Yountsville, she was a daughter of Neal and Alice Gleason Caruer [sic]. She married John Tate, who died Oct. 30, 1940. Mr. and Mrs. Tate lived in the Alamo and Yountsville communities during their married life. Mrs. Tate was a member of the EUB Church. Survivors include the son at whose home she died and another son, John Tate of Alamo; seven daughters, Mrs. Ethel Steele of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Katie Rice of New Market, Mrs. Rosa Layton of Brazil, Mrs. Goldia Layton of Indianapolis, Mrs. Ida Carroll of Alamo, Mrs. Minnie Stephens of Waynetown and Mrs. Martha Miller of Indianapolis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by five children. Funeral rites are announced for 1:30 p.m. (EST) Friday at Bright Funeral Home here with Rev. Richard Baker in charge. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. Crawfordsville Journal Review, 22-Oct-1960, 4: 6- Ida Elizabeth Tate Funeral Rites Held- Fuenral services for Mrs. Ida Elizabeth were held Friday aftenroon at the Bright Fuenral Home. Rev. Richard Baker officiated. Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the floral tributes were grandsons Johnnie Tate of Alamo, Danny Rice of New Market, Donald Carrell of Wingate, Jerry Stephens of Waynetown, and Harry Steele and Sanford Borakers of Crawfordsville, Curtis E. Bright played organ selections. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Tate died Tuesday.
