Crawfordsville Journal Review, 22-Jan-1963, 2- Franz O. Myers, Pioneer Farmer, Dies At Age Of 77- LADOGA- Franz O. Myers, 77, farmer and life resident of Ladoga and the Myers Homestead, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday at Culver Hospital. He was admitted ot the hospital last Friday. He had been in ill health for nearly seven years. Myers was born Sept. 4, 1885, at the Myers Homestead west of Ladoga. His parents were J. Frantz and Sarah O'Neall Myers. He was married twice. His first marriage was to Chasie Bridges Oct. 31, 1905, and after her death, Jan. 1, 1940, he was married to Gladys L. Hill on Oct. 15, 1941, at Roachdale. Myers was a member of the Ladoga Presbyterian Church. He served as an elder and Sunday school superintendent for many years. In February 1962 he was honored for 26 years of service in the Presbyterian Church. He was a member of a pioneer family that came to Ladoga and Montgomery County. He graduated from the Wabash Prep School and attended Wabash College and Purdue University and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Atkins of Indianapolis; a son, Howard B. Myers of near Roachdale; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ladoga Presbyterian Church where the body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home at Ladoga after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
