Crawfordsville Journal Review, 8-Jul-1963, 8- Jessie D. Jones Dies in Hospital; Services Tuesday- Mrs. Jessie D. Jones, 69, formerly of 403 W. Main St., died Sunday morning in Culver Hospital after an extended illness. She had been a patient in the hospital since May 11. Mrs. Jones was employed for a number of years by various cleaning establishments here. She was a member of Mt. Zion EUB Church. Born March 14, 1894 in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of Irvin and Rosa McCormick Buchanan. She married Jesse Jones in 1913. They were married here. Surviving are a son, Harold M. Jones of Indianapolis; a daughter Mrs. Robert B. Swanson of Crawfordsville; a brother, Robert Buchanan of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Cooper and Mrs. Thelma Peffley, both of Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son who lost his life during World War II. The son, Hubert Jones, was killed Feb. 12, 1945 while serving with the U.S. Army in Germany. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home here with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday.
