Source: Waveland Independent Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana Oct. 22, 1915 Sunday night between 11 and 12 o'clock, Mr. Will VanCleave walked outdoors but failed to return. His wife became uneasy but could not find him. She gave the alarm to the neighbors and search was made for him. The men searched the neighborhood and then tracked him to the creek. They then dragged the creek but could not find him. It was quite an exciting time. Monday, his brother, Henry and wife, of Crawfordsville were called. About 4 o'clock Mon. evening he was seen out in the barn lot walking around. He was asked where he had been and why he had done that. His reply was, "that he got mad at his family and went to the hay mow and hid under the hay." He said he got hungry and could stay there no longer. This is a warning to men. When you get mad at your family, don't go to the hay mow and stay there. It causes too much excitement.
But he seems to have recovered from his "indisposition" -- it was 1916 when he was putting on his one-man-band performance! Wouldn't I like to have seen that! > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Date: Sat, 10 Jul 2010 22:51:08 -0400 > Subject: [InMontgo] Thought you would all get a kick out of this one :) KZ > > Source: Waveland Independent Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana Oct. 22, 1915 > > Sunday night between 11 and 12 o'clock, Mr. Will VanCleave walked outdoors but failed to return.
