Hey, I have a William Hankins Compton in the Wert family tree (his sister married into the Werts). He was the son of Nathan Compton and Jane Hankins Compton. Not sure it's the same one because I have him being born 21 Dec 1821 in Home, Hamilton Co Ohio, and dying 22 Oct 1905 Danville, Vermilion, Illinois. The information probably came from an Ancestry tree, so 100% accuracy not guaranteed. Since he isn't really in the tree, I also didn't follow up with his wife and kids or anything. I was so excited to find Wm H Compton on my tree, I forgot to say, "Great sleuthing" on the photo!
