Smith (1845-) Bart Smith (1847-) Jasper William Smith (1848-) George Smith (1850-) Phebe Ann Smith (1856-) David Drury Smith (1857-1893) Theodore E Smith (1859-) Emily Ellen Smith (1862-1939) Nancy Dora Smith (1865-) Rose A Smith (1868-1939) Samuel B "Birtie" Smith (1872-) I'm trying to locate his parents. The 1840 census for Cole Creek, Montgomery, Indiana, might lead me to something. The following households are listed right next to each other in this order: Robert R. Smith Males: 5 & under 10, 1; 10 & under 15 ,- 1; 15 & under 20, 1; 60 & under 70 , 1 Females: under 5 , 1; 5 & under 10, 1; 20 & under 30, 2; 40 & under 50, 1 Thomas S. B. Dazey (Sarah's father) Males: 30 & under 40, 1; 80 & under 90, 1 Females: under 5, 1; 10 & under 15, 1; 40 & under 50, 1 David Smith Males: 20 & under 30, 1 Females: 15 & under 20, 1 William Smith, jun Males under 5, 1 (obviously a child under 5 years wasn't living alone, but that's what is listed) William Smith, sen Males: 5 & under 10, 1; 10 & under 15, 1; 50 & under 60, 1 Females: 5 & under 10, 1; 10 & under 15, 1; 15 & under 20, 1; 50 & under 60, 1 As you can see, either Robert or William are the right age range to be David's father.
