Crawfordsville Journal Review, 4-May-1964, 8:1- James Auman Jr. Dies At 23; Rites Set for Tuesday- Marion James (Jim) Auman Jr., 23, died at 4:12 a.m. Sunday in Cuvler Hospital of a gunshot wound to his head that Coroner Dr. Samuel Millis said was self-inflicted. The shooting occurred in his apartment bathroom, police reported. A .45 Colt automatic was found near the mortally wounded man when police were called to the Palmer Apartments building shortly before 4 a.m. His wife told authorities that he had shot himself. Mr. Auman was born Jan. 20, 1941 at Crawfordsville, son of Marion James and Velma Gilland Auman. He was married Dec. 15, 1962 to Diana Adams.
