    3. Crawfordsville Journal Review, 8-Jul-1963, 1- Long Illness Is Fatal For Floyd Cornell- C. Floyd Cornell, Montgomery County assessor, died Sunday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He had been in failing health the past year and seriously ill two weeks. Mr. Cornell, 74, resided at 103 S. Walnut St. A native of Darlington, he was active in Republican politics and had been prominent in a number of civic affairs since moving to this city. He was a member and past president of the Lions Club. An active member of Trinity Methodist church, he taught Sunday School for many years and was past president of the church board. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge at Darlington and Scottish Rite of Indianapolis. Born Jan. 26, 1889, he was the son of Allen and Virginia Cornell. He was twice married. His second marriage was to Louise Remley, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Cornell of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Forrest Newnum of Crawfordsville; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David. The body will be brought to Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are pending.
