    3. Crawfordsville Journal Review 28-Aug-1961 4: 7- Albert Ammerman Dies In Hospital- Albert Ammerman, 80, 216 ½ E. Main St., died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks. He spent most of his life training horses for stables throughout the country and was at one time the sergeant in charge of the famed Black Horse Troop in Chicago. He was born in Alamo, Oct. 2, 1880, to George W. and Alice Campbell Ammerman. He was a 55-year member of the Eagles. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ida Smith of Crawfordsville, and a nephew, Fredric Albright of Anderson. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. A service will be conducted there by the Eagles at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Henry F. Ward will conduct funeral services at St. Bernard’s Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday and burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
