As genealogists and more so as historians it is up to US to see that history is preserved. If history is allowed to FADE AWAY, it makes it too easy to forget who we are and where we come from. Its a LOT easier to rewrite history if you start with a blank page. Lets FIGHT to not have the historic places, documents, and data erased by willful neglect, laissez faire politicians, and budget cuts made so the money can be boondoggled away on political fat. Doing nothing now means that there is nothing to be done later. Jeff
Jeff, You are so right!! We genealogist's are the historians. Thank god we care about who are ancestors are and where we came from. I'm afraid if it was left to the government we would all be pretty sad and depressed. We must all stick together. But most important we must remember to share whatever small piece of information we may have. I'll say one thing about us "Genealogist's" we are the most helpful group of people. We are always willing to check on something for someone else or make that copy at the local library. We truly are a great group of people.
