Crawfordsville Journal Review, 28-Jul-1961, 3: 3- Mrs. Stockdale Dies In Rochester- WAYNETOWN- Mrs. Janice (Jan) Leone Stockdale, 39, died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Mrs. Stockdale, who lived with her husband 1 1/2 miles south of Waynetown on the Bounnell farm, had been an employe of Hoosier Crown in Crawfordsville for about 18 years. She became ill in May and in June was taken to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for major surgery. She had been home about two weeks when she became ill Thursday morning and was flown back to Rochester. She was born March 22, 1922, to H. E. and Pearl Quackenbush Nickloy in Adrian, Mich. She was graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1940 and also graduated from the Lafayette Business College. On Feb. 14, 1945, she was married to Max Stockdale in Crawfordsville. They shared their home with his mother, Mrs. Mamie Stockdale. Survivors include her husband; her parents, 1305 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville; a twin sister, Mrs. Clint (Joyce) Runyon, also of Crawfordsville, and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Jean, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. John G. DeKruyter, pastor of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, of which Mrs. Stockdale was a member, and Rev. John R. Servies will officiate. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday. Burial will be at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
