    2. Karen Zach
    3. Crawfordsville Review Fri May19, 1916 p 1-A serious accident almost happened at the scene of the TR sale yesterday. Horace Weaver of Wallace had decided to take his family to the John Lusk homestead for the day and left home in his machine bound for that place. He neglected however to fix his brake which had been burned out previously and when he came to the hill at the Lusk home he was unable to stop the car. It sped down the hill headed straight for the creek. To reach it, it was necessary to go over a rock ledge about 15' high. The driver, while he did not have presence of mind enough to grab the emergency brake, did succeed in turning the front wheels sideways making the auto fall against a tree. Three feet father and no one in the machine would have been able to escape death or serious injury. Six persons were in the machine at the time: Horace, Mrs. Weaver, June Weaver, Goldie Bayless, Clara Bayless and Flossie Bowman. Two of those in the machine were children.

This Schenck line migrated through Warren County Ohio and the Montgomery County Vancleaves migrated through North Carolina and Kentucky.
