This is actually a family I was looking at a while back. I have a Chapman R. Keese (also spelled Keesee and Keesy) who was born around 1785 (don't know where). He was married several times in both Kentucky and Indiana and I don't know who his children were by these other marriages though he appears to have had 1 son and 3 daughters. In 1843 in Boone County he was married to Jane McKinney-Williams (widow of Charles Williams). Chapman and Jane had two daughters, Nancy and Sarah, before they were divorced in Clinton County in 1851. I have been unable to find them in the 1850 census, Jane died in 1855 and I have no idea what happened to Chapman after their divorce. One of Charles and Jane's daughters was America Williams-Corns, wife of William Corns, they lived between Bowers and Darlington. Wikipedia: A cultipacker is a piece of agricultural equipment that crushes dirt clods, removes air pockets, and presses down small stones, forming a smooth, firm seedbed. Where seed has been broadcast, the roller gently firms the soil around the seeds, ensuring shallow seed placement and excellent seed-to-soil contact. The cultipacker differs from the roller in that it is made up of many sections that form peaks and valleys in the soil where packer has been used. The term cultipacker is almost exclusively applied to ridged packers, while the term roller may refer to either a smooth or a ridged packer. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary K" <dpmk@ffni.com> To: <INMONTGO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 27, 2008 10:14 AM Subject: [InMontgo] Cultipacker - MK > Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving! > > I believe the word 'cultipacker' is what a canner was called way back > when.
