    3. Here's more about her Aline Francis Ballard, 18, High School Senior, Dies in Physician's Office Soon After Crash -3 Others Hurt-Services Today Wingate Sept. 8-The body of Aline Frances Ballard, 18 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Ballard, lay tonight in a casket at the home of her parents, one mile south, of Wingate-the victim of an automobile collision in which she was almost instantly killed and three other persons were injured at noon Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Christian church in Russellville, former home of the girl. There, Rev. W. H. Sando, pastor of the Wingate Christian church, will have charge of the rites, assisted by Rev. J. C. Ashley, pastor of the Christian church of Russellville. Burial will he in the. Russellville cemetery. The funeral procession will leave the Ballard home at 12:30 o'clock Monday afternoon for Russellville. The crash occurred at the Ollie Hopper corner two miles southwest of Wingate and Miss Ballard died at the office of a local physician about thirty minutes after the accident. Her death was attributed to internal wounds. Miss Ballard was in company with her sister, Bertrall, and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Virgil Ballard, of Wingate, and was driving south on the county line road about noon when the machine collided with a car driven by Forrest Murdock, Wingate farmer. The Ballard machine left the road and crashed into a fence and Miss Ballard was thrown from the auto as it swerved and was picked up in an unconscious condition. None of the other occupants was badly hurt although both automobiles were heavily damaged. Mr. Murdock, who was alone, was headed east. The accident victim was a senior in the Wingate high school and was a very popular member of her class. She came here with her family from Russellville a year ago. Miss Ballard was under the machine when it stopped but it was not definitely determined as to whether or not the car had passed over her body. She had gone to the home of her brother, Virgil, in Wingate, earlier in the day and was enroute home. Bertrall, the sister, was driving the car and neither, of the machines was reported traveling at a very high rate of speed. The road intersection is obscured by corn fields. Aline Frances was born in 1917 near Russellville the daughter of Claude and Tillie Ballard, and had lived with her family in and near Russellville until the family moved to the Wingate vicinity a year ago. She was a member of the Christian church of Russellville. Survivors, besides the parents and sister, include two brothers. Aline Frances Ballard Aline Frances Ballard daughter of Claude and Tilla. Ballard, met death in an automobile accident Saturday at a road crossing not far from their home near Wingate. Frances, with her sister, Bertreli, and brother's wife, were driving south when their machine collided with another coming east driven by Forest Murdock. The Murdock car was damaged beyond repair but the Ballard car was not damaged so much. None of the other participants were injured seriously. One of Heaven's sweet flowers that had bloomed on earth such a short time was taken from our midst in an accidental death neat Wingate, Saturday, Sept. 7,1935. Aline Frances Ballard was born in Putnam county near Russellville, Ind., Jan 5. 1917; departed this life at the age of 18 years, 8 months and 2 days. Left to mourn her loss, are father, mother, one sister, Bertrell, two brothers, Virgil and Ancil, and one sister-in-law, Mary, besides a host of relatives and friends. Frances had attended school at Russellville, Ladoga, Crawfordsville and had entered high school for her Senior year at Wingate. She attended Sunday School at the Wingate Christian church. Funeral services were held at the Russellville Christian church Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. W. H. Sando of Wingate. Burial was in Hebron cemetery. IN MEMORIAM In loving memory of our dear daughter and sister, who passed, away five years ago today, Sept. 7, 1935. 3. I had some old video tapes of my family, one being of my parents. I had them on their porch and I more or less did an interview with them. I just recently bought a lightscribe DVD burner..so I took the tapes, put them on a DVD, then I burnt a photo of the two of them on the front, and titled it. I gave each one of my brothers and sisters a copy of it. It has lots of memories on it. I had them tell about growing up, what businesses was in town, where they went to school, how they met, who their parents was, what it was like raising us, and etc. I had them laughing and serious. You could also do this with CD as well, you don't have to have a dvd player/recorder/burner.

    3. Samuel and Sarah (Griffin) Humphreys actually had 16 children (2 died as babies, one in Illinois and one in Montgomery County). The kids are (in case anyone else is interested, I'm researching all 16 of them): Emma 1876-1879 Jonathan B. 1877-1968 Fredrick 1879-1964 Ross Township 1880-1961 James 1882-1950 Lee 1883-1967 Wilbur 1885-1977 Alford 1887-1945 Francis Merrian "Frank" 1888-1973 Asa 1891-1970 Grover Cleveland 1892-1969 Charles "Charley" 1894-1974 Mary M. 1896-1897 Zella 1898-1969 Carl 1902-1980 Caroline 1906-1974 Fred was my gg-grandfather. Samuel and Sarah had their first grandchild on July 18, 1896. By the time their last daughter Caroline was born in 1906 Samuel and Sarah already had 5 grandchildren, the oldest (who died as a baby) was 10 years older than his youngest aunt! > Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 12:51:37 -0500 > From: "Karen Zach" > <karen.zach@sbcglobal.net> > Subject: Re: [InMontgo] Alford Humphreys > To: <gostraka@yahoo.com>, > <inmontgo@rootsweb.com> > > Hey, thanks Lena - that one helped me determine the last of > their children > :) > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Lena C." <gostraka@yahoo.com> > To: "Mont.
