Crawfordsville Daily Journal, Friday, January 5, 1906 William Lambert Smith was born in Putnam county, Ind., March 12, 1847, died at his home in Montgomery county, Ind., on December 29, 1905, age 58 years, 9 months, and 17 days. He was the first born of a family of thirteen children. He was twice married. The first time to Elizabeth A. Davis, of Montgomery county, Ind., on June 24, 1875. To them were born four sons, John, Wallace, Charley and Oscar, and one daughter, Maggie, who died September 28, 1892. His first wife died on May 1, 1883. He was again married to Jessie M. Davis, a sister of his former wife, on September 13, 1883. To this last union was born four sons, William Marl, George Pearl, Carl DeWitt, and Francis Paul, all of whom have gone before. Death again visited his home on July 24, 1894, and took away his second wife. When but eighteen years of age he enlisted in the Union army and thus offered his services to his country in her time of extreme peril. He was a faithful member of the Christian church for many years, and greatly enjoyed the service of love which his Master's cause required of him. He was a useful member of the Grand Army of the Republic and a member of the Masonic Order. He was a good citizen, a kind neighbor, and a steadfast friend whose influence will be greatly missed by those who knew him and were associated with him. He leaves one brother, two half brothers, One sister, four half sisters, four sons, three grandsons and a large circle of friends to mourn his departure.

Crawfordsville Journal Review May 12, 1956 -- Fred A. Wilkinson, 79, retired Crawfordsville restaurant proprietor died Friday night in Culver Hospital. He had been in failing health several years and seriously ill one month. Born Nov 13, 1876 in Fountain County Mr. Wilkinson was the son of Decatur and Emma A. Thompson Wilkinson (picture - sorry, too bad to scan). He was married Nov 27, 1901 to Stella Lewellen who died last April 7. Mr. Wilkinson was in the restaurant business in this city 18 years. During his early life he engaged in farming. He was a member of the Alamo Masonic Lodge, Crawfordsville Eagles and VFW Father's Auxiliary. Survivors include four children, Ernest Wilkinson, Ervie Wilkinson of Wayentown, Charles Wilkinson; and Mrs. Emma Earl; a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Dodd; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 3 brothesr. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Rev. John Servies will be officiating minister. Friends may call at the funeral home. The Alamo Masonic Lodge will conduct rites at the graveside.

Her parents were Thomas and Frances Charters Lewellen. She married Fred A. Wilkinson at Yountsville Nov 27, 1901. Mrs. Wilkinson spent her childhood in the Alamo community, where she attended school. She was the oldest of a family of 10 children. Active in club work and business since coming to Crawfordsville, Mrs. Wilkinson was associated with her husband in the restaurant business from 1923-1948. She also was active in the work of the Pocahontas for a number of years. Surviving besides the husband, are 3 sons: Ernest; Ervie and Charles Wilkinson; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Earl; 4 brothers, Walter Lewellen of Chicago; Archie Lewellen of Deer's Mill and Edward and Herbert Lewellen, twins, both of Waynetown; 3 sisters, Mrs. Bessie Ellis of New Castle; Mrs. Godey Graves of Newton Falls, Ohio and Mrs. Mabel Douglas of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren 10 great grandchildren and several other relatives. Survivors include a son, Virgil of Rt 2, Waynetown; one daughter, Mrs ? Thoebus of Coral Gables, Fl; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Servies Funeral Home in Wayentown with burial in Wayentown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Million of the First Christian Church in charge. Burial in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Born in Fountain County July 2, 1868, she was the widow of Daniel M. Wilkinson who died Dec 27, 1930. her parents were William Lee and Martha Ann Cade Moffett of Fountain County. After her marriage in Fountain County, she lived in the Ingersoll Chapel neighborhood until moving to the Crawfordsville Address. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the second section of the Ladies' Aid the Gleaners Class, Athens NO. 97 OES, Home Economics Club and the Flower Lovers Club. Surviving are a brother, Henry L. Moffitt of Waynetown; a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Ingersoll of Waynetown and several nieces and nephews. Pallbeares were Russell Moffett and Lloyd Ingersoll of Waynetown; James Ingersoll and Paul Ingersoll of Wingate; William Munns of Bloomington and Samuel M. Woodruff of Frankfort. Curtis Bright was at the organ.

Mrs. Wilkinson was born April 7, 1854 in Fountain County, the daughter of NIckolis and Mary Kashner Thompson. She was married to Decatur Wilkinson Jan 20, 1875. The deceased was a member of the Crawfordsville Christian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clarence C. Dodds, a son, Fred Wilkinson, both of this city; a sister, Mrs. Hiram Parker of Clark's Hill; five grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one stepgranddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the First Christian Church here in charge of Rev. Paul Million. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
