    2. Karen Zach
    3. Source: Crawfordsville Journal Review 19 Feb 1954 p 4 Charles Morrison was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana June 25, 1880 to the union of John and Minerva Morrison. Due to the death of his parents he moved to Alamo, Indiana where he was raised by Newton and Sarah Compton. He received his education at Alamo. On August 17, 1899 he was married Rose Krout who has been his bride for some 54 years. To this couple was born three children, Doyne Morrison, who preceded him in death, Rondal Morrison of New Ross and Mabel G. Osborne of Crawfordsville. For a time after his marriage Charles made his living as a farmer. In 1920 he went into business at Yountsville, Indiana and remained in business until 1928 when he moved to C'ville where he maintained his residence until death. Mr. Morrison had been in failing health some 17 months, under the loving care of his beloved wife. His wants were few and his spirits high. Even to the last when the ravages of sickness had weakened him so much, he still would greet all visitors with a wave and a smile. Earthly gains he had but few but the treasure of everlasting friendship and the eternal love of his family were treasures he held more dear. A loving companion, dutiful father, devoted friend, Charles will be sadly missed by those who knew him. But having fulfilled his allotted three score and ten years to their fullest, he was content in the knowledge that he had made his peace with God and was ready for the journey to that promised land. In the twilight of his life, he was intenely devoted to his family and as the darkness of death became apparent so did Charles prepare to meet his maker. Knowing that as we serve and prupose of our lives so certainly shall we receive our reward. To have known Charles was to have been his friend. Uncomplaing and gentle with always a kind word he certainly has filled his allotted time on this earth with the good things of life. He leaves his devoted wife and loving children with certain understanding that a reunion in another life is inevitable and that in all their sorrow a loving God knows best. Source: Crawfordsville Journal Review 23 Feb 1954 p 8 Charles Morrison, 73, 706 Milligan Street, died at his home Thursday at 8:45 p.m. He had been in failing health since September of 1953, an death was attributed to complications.
