    3. I only had one family spend time in Montgomery county but I always scan the list to see if they are there. I don't have a preference for how often updates come. I also like the updates as a visual reminder of what it takes research a place well and give real context to a family's story. 3. I look over the listings. In fact, a couple of last week's additions were my family. I have a lot on my plate now and am not spending time on genealogy, but I do file away new information for when I can get back to it. 3. I definitely read what you send since I'm looking diligently to get through a major barrier! I'm looking for any information that proves Joel Brookshire and wife Sarah Slack Brookshire - who migrated from NC to Montgomery Co, IN in 1830 had a daughter named Nancy who married a Joel Graves (he came from NC too)! Nancy and Joel Graves evidently moved to IA shortly after they married. I've found information on several of the Brookshire boys and some of the girls, but nothing on Nancy other than a Montgomery marriage record. Haven't found any newspaper items in the services to which I subscribe (Newspapers and GenealogyBank). Any ideas of where else to look or of someone who might be able to help? -----Original Message----- From: inmontgo-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:inmontgo-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Karen Zach via Sent: Tuesday, September 1, 2015 1:07 AM To: inmontgo@rootsweb.com Subject: [InMontgo] DISCUSSION PLEASE Truth - here -- does anyone look/go over the listings of additions I send ? 3. Kind of a slow month - began an online historical magazine (for the local paper, The Paper of Montgomery County) and spent lots of time getting it all fixed-up - it's going to be pretty nifty -- also had lots of grandkids - loved that Probably the least amount of obits I've ever put up but hey, 23 is better than none 1 Brick Wall entry (Bunker/Stump) School -- added 5 new schools (including Quick & Ash Pile - we have some odd-ball named ones around here) & one 1905-06 picture of the Union Township teachers (thanks Jerry T) Photos - 5 including one of the old Shades State Park entry - the one I used to ride my bicycle in when going to work -- FUN KBZ

    3. Hi all, I am looking for information on my 3rd great grandparents. I have been able to find out information on John S Bunker's family. He was born 1860 in Montgomery County, Indiana to Charles David and Harriet (Stonebraker) Bunker. He married Ida Stump July 1880 in Montgomery Co, Indiana, and the two moved to Johnson or Pulaski County, Illinois between 1887 and 1892 (three children were born in Indiana, the rest in Illinois). He died in 1906. Ida May, on the other hand, has been a mystery from the beginning. She was born 1864 in Indiana; however, I have been unable to find her in either the 1870 or 1880 censuses. There are a number of Stump families in Montgomery County, but none have an Ida May or even a daughter of the right age. The first Ida May appears is her marriage certificate in July 1880. Family story has it that Ida May and her mother came to town with a band of gypsies. Also, some have said she was part Indian. Also, Ida May and her parents had a falling out when she married John, and they disowned her and she them. Because they did not approve, she refused to talk about them to her children, so the descendants now know nothing. We do have a photograph that is a young (preteen/teen) Ida May Stump and her mother. But we have been unable to find out anything on her mother. If anyone would have any ideas for who Ida May's parents might be, or know where I can look, I would LOVE to get in touch with you. There have been numerous descendants of Ida May and John Bunker that have searched and searched for information on the couple, and none of us have been able to track anything down. Thank you! 3. Oh, maybe Milphie is a male as I just thought of a name Milphie could be short for - Milford. Kept racking my brain to think of a female name and just couldn't come up with one - of course, it could be a complete name and not just what they called the child. Hmmm - kz On 6/16/2015 12:39 PM, Marilyn Walker wrote: > Someone on Ancestry has Milphie as Male..but I don't know where they > got their info. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > *From:* Karen Zach via <inmontgo@rootsweb.com> > *To:* inmontgo@rootsweb.com > *Sent:* Tuesday, June 16, 2015 12:17 PM > *Subject:* Re: [InMontgo] OPINION PLEASE > > Yep, that's where I got "her" name :) Milphie - wild one > > On 6/16/2015 9:35 AM, Melissa Jackson via wrote: > > It's not misspelled. 3. Karen, did you try to contact Heidi from this page? http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=mr&GRid=19435155&MRid=46869486& This is the Edit tab on the Find a Grave page. Looks like she took over for Terry Akin. Maybe she will have some more info – maybe not. ....Jack From: Karen Zach via Sent: Tuesday, June 16, 2015 9:17 AM To: inmontgo@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [InMontgo] OPINION PLEASE Yep, that's where I got "her" name :) Milphie - wild one On 6/16/2015 9:35 AM, Melissa Jackson via wrote: > It's not misspelled. 3. #1 Anyone have access to the WWI Gold Star book? I need a picture of Ralph Flora. Although he was born in Montgomery County (so want to include him and the newspaper even notes him as our first casualty) he lived in Indianapolis when he was Killed In Action. It'd be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks #2 Here is what was added last week to Montgomery County : ENJOY *WEEK 1 -- * *OBITUARIES <http://indianagenweb.com/inmontgomery/obituaries/index.htm>: __45__: Names: Ashby; Craig; Courtney; Fairfield; Freeman; Frees; Fry; Fryer; Fulford; Fulp; Fulwider; Fullenwider; Fuller; Fowler; Fox; Fournier; Frederick; France; Froedge; Gantz; Guy; Hatt; Jack; Larew; Simmons; Smith; Rancourt; Stetler; Ward; Warbritton; Walters; Wilson* *TOWNS <http://indianagenweb.com/inmontgomery/history/twsp/index.html>: : _2__ : Total of 398 towns to date - thanks, Jerry - added Providence & Paragonville * *Oh, hope you noted the # of towns/villages/whistle stops we've collected over the last several years -- TWO MORE and we made 400.
