The item noted below was abstracted by Randi Richardson from one of the original documents in the file. In September 1877, Malinda J. Keplinger sued her husband, Samuel Keplinger for divorce. She said she had been living in Monroe County, Indiana, for at least six months prior to filing her petition. She said, further, that she married her husband in Spencer County on an unspecified date in the 1870s, that since the marriage she had been mistreated and left without support. She asked for alimony in the amount of $1,000 from her husband's expected inheritance at the death of his mother.
