NOTE: According to the 1900 census, Henry S. Steele and his wife, Amelia, lived at 608 West Third Street with their servant, 22-year-old Elmer Bush. Henry was employed as a lumber dealer. AGED WOMAN PASSES AWAY Mrs. Permelia Jane Steele, age 75, wife of Henry S. Steele, died at her home, 608 West 3rd Street, Sunday evening after a brief illness of pneumonia. She had been in ill health for the past 18 months following a fall at her home. Mrs. Steele was born and reared in this city, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Dillon, deceased. She spent practically her entire life in the old Dillon homestead on 3rd Street, one of the old landmarks of the community. The Dillon family was one of the best known of the pioneer families of Bloomington. Survivors are the husband and two sisters, Mrs. David Dyne of this city and Mrs. David Boyll of Lafayette. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
