By December 1970, Esta Berry, a native of Seymour, an alumni of Indiana University and a former teacher, had worked 22 years as a bookkeeper for Woolworth's at 125 N. College. Jim Dunning was the manager at the time. Soon after she went to work there in 1948, the business took over the Kroger's store next door and did extensively remodeling.
