Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Daily Telephone, October 15, 1925, p. 1. Note: There are several items on the first page of this issue of the paper about the death of Senator Samuel Ralston DEATH OF SENATOR RALSTON PERSONAL LOSS TO THE CITY The death of Senator Ralston comes as a personal loss to this community. He was always a loyal and persistent friend of Bloomington and Indiana University, not because Mrs. Ralston was once a resident here, but because he liked our people and he was a strong believer in higher education. As a brother-in-law of the two Cravens Brothers to whom he was much attached, he always enjoyed a visit to the city. When Governor of the state he always welcomed people from Bloomington to his office and he gave one of his best appointments on one of the commissions to Edwin Corr. When Indiana University's welfare came up for consideration he was always anxious to do everything possible and there was never any cause for alarm about its appropriations as long as he was in the executive chair.
