    3. Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Daily Telephone, October 15, 1925, p. 1. MR. BEVERIDGE FOR SENATOR (Special to Bloomington Telephone) INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 15-Under the law, when a vacancy occurs, the Governor fills the place by appointment until the next general election, so that in the death of Senator Ralston, Gov. Jackson will appoint the next Senator, a Republican taking the place of a Democrat. In that Albert J. Beverage was the candidate against Mr. Ralston, and defeated, under the almost universal rule, it is the general opinion that Mr. Beveridge will be invited to fill the vacancy. Mr. Beveridge is now at his summer home near Boston. Constance T.
