Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Progress, December 6, 1871, p. 3. A school house, in Marion township, near the Martinsville road, was burned to the ground last week. The building had been fired a few nights previously, but the flames were extinguished. There is no doubt that the final destruction of the house was due to the persistent efforts of the identical incendiary who fired it upon the first occasion. There was no insurance on the building, and the township finances are in a bad condition. By the way, we are informed that neither the Court House nor the Poor Asylum are insured. ----- Constance T.
