Ultimately, Walter Bradfute rebuilt the Telephone building on the site of the old building, incorporating the old columns. The building was demolished in the late 60's to make way for a new First National Bank Building. The columns were salvaged and now stand at Billy Hayes Track on the IU campus. Henry Gentry did not rebuild. He sold the site to Citizens Loan and Trust Company. They built a bank designed by Indianapolis architects McGuire and Shook. This building was also demolished to clear the site for the 1960's First National Bank building. The First National Bank of Bloomington no longer exists, but the building, designed by Edward James and Associates, still stands at the southwest corner of 5th and College. One of the tenants is a branch of Chase bank.
