The building where Suburban Lanes bowling at 2634 N. Walnut was once situated has sat empty for several years. It was purchased by George Schermer in 2014. Schermer is friends with Steve Birch who owns the Furniture Exchange business. Birch has been remodeling the bowling alley and will move his business to the new location in November 2015. His current location on South College was purchased by the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center in order to facilitate their expansion at a future date.
