Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, October 31, 1893, p. 1. Rena, daughter of Jackson and Catchern Strain, was born near Harrodsburg, Sept. 4th, 1871, and died Oct. 21st, 1893, in Bloomington. Her funeral took place from the church at Clear Creek, in the presence of a large and sympathizing audience, and was in charge of Dr. Steele, of the M. E. church, assisted by J. H. Garrison. The body was buried in the beautiful cemetery at that place. She preceded father, mother, five brothers and two sisters in the spirit world. She was a dutiful daughter and a loving sister. She united with the M. E. church when quite young, and was a devoted christian. Her life was beautiful and her approach to death was victorious. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. J. H. G.
