    1. [INMONROE] Nancy McKee vs. Hiram McKee-Divorce
    2. Randi Richardson
    3. Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) World, September 18, 1898, p. 8. SLEPT WITH A REVOLVER UNDER HIS HEAD Through her attorneys, Henley & Wilson, Nancy McKee yesterday filed suit for divorce from her husband, Hiram McKee. The complaint in part says: "That she and the defendant were duly married on August 18, 1887, and lived together as husband and wife with occasional separations until the 4th of September 1896, when they separated and have not since lived together. That the defendant was guilty of cruel and inhuman treatment to wit: That he threatened to kill the plaintiff, would curse her and call her vile names and follow her with a shotgun. He would sleep with a revolver under his head and declared that he could kill the plaintiff. That the defendant for the last three years of their married life failed to make reasonable support for her but compelled her to make her own living and support. Wherefore she asks for divorce and all other proper relief.
