Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Star, February 8, 1935, p. 3. DILL-Funeral services for Sam B. Dill, who died suddenly last week in Los Angeles, Calif., were held Thursday from the First Methodist Church. Mr. Dill, well-known throughout the United States as a circus operator, had been ill for some time, suffering from a lung tumor. At one time he was general manager of the American Circus Corporation and was general manager of the John Robinson Circus until it was sold to John Ringling. He later organized his own circus, the first motorized circus in the country. Last season he operated a show with Tom Mix, noted movie star, and later sold his interest in the venture to Mix. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Nettie Dill; his father, W. P. Dill, now ill in Cincinnati; a sister, Mrs. Ray Hutton of Bloomington and a brother, Dwight Dill of Dallas, Texas.
