Joseph Lee Hanson, 47, proprietor of the Hanson Motor Company, died at three o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Norway Sanitarium at Indianapolis of cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Hanson had been in ill health for a number of years, and a few weeks ago took a decided turn for the worse. He was taken to the sanitarium for treatment and while it was known that he was in a serious condition, the news of his passing was a shock to his many friends in this community. He had been connected with the automobile business for several years selling Oldsmobile cars and had built up a good business founded on his solid integrity observed in his business dealings. He was a man who made friends readily and was well liked by all who knew him. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Grace Hanson, four children, Mrs. John Doub, Forrest, Helen and Betty Hanson, all of this city; two grandchildren, Norma Joe (sic) Hanson and Margaret Ellen Doub; one brother, John Hanson, of Palmer, Ia., and one sister, Mrs. David Sipes south of the city. The body was brought to the Day Funeral Home and was later taken to the residence at 328 Eastside Drive. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon from the Clear Creek Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Brookbank, Hyman Fell, Lou Leventhal, Glenn Curry, Paul Brown and William E. Brown. Flower bearers: Floyd Hanson, Joseph E. Hanson, Russell Hancock, Clarence Allen, Marion Hanson, Claude Hanson, Donald Van Camp and Cecil Lanam.
