NOTE: The information noted below was abstracted by Randi Richardson from a document in a Monroe County civil court record, Box 328, available at the Monroe County History Center, Bloomington, Indiana. This case was heard before Milton Hite, a justice of the peace in Monroe County in 1876. Amy Harding, an unmarried female, claimed that she gave birth to a bastard child on April 4, 1874, and accused Amos Snyder of fathering said child. Snyder could not be found.
