Bloomington (Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, November 13, 1896, p. 4. SAD DEATH. Passing Away of Willie Graham at the age of 17. >From Thursday's Daily: Willie Graham died Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Graham, west Kirkwood avenue. His death was caused by apendicitis [sic] and resulted after a week's illness. He was compelled to leave his school a week ago today and complained of a severe pain in his right side and continued to grow worse until Tuesday, when after a consultation by a number of leading physicians it was found that an operation was necessary. The operation was performed Tuesday evening, when it was seen that there were small chances for recovery, as an abcess [sic] had formed in the region of the appendix and had already broken. The boy was 17 years old, and was a young man of high integrity, being a good student and standing high in his class atschool [sic]. He was a member of the 2nd year high school class and recognized as one of its brightest pupils. He was a consistent christian and has been a member of the Kirkwood Avenue Christian church for the past four years.
