Bloomington (Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana) Courier, March 6, 1900, p. 1. Death Came Suddenly. Mrs. Matilda Meadows, five miles east of the city, died suddenly yesterday morning after partaking of a light breakfast. She was in her usual good health, excepting that she suffered from a goiter on the neck. Deceased was 71 years old and resided with her son, Charles Meadows. She was the widow of Riley Mercer and the mother of five children. The funeral will occur at the Bethel church at ten o'clock this morning in charge of Rev. Garrison.
