The information noted below was abstracted by Randi Richardson from the original document. According to a Monroe County (IN) marriage record index, Nancy Jane Alexander married Henry Corsaw on September 13, 1846. The couple afterward lived in Owen County, Indiana, and California. About 1875, Nancy Corsaw and others sued Samuel Gillett and James Spencer in Monroe County, Indiana. (See Civil Court Records Box 258.) Nancy said that she and her co-plaintiffs owned certain Bloomington lots and the defendants disputed her ownership. In that document it was noted that William Alexander was in debt about $20,000 in 1841. John Alexander was identified as Nancy's father. Mention was also made of John's brother.
