Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, October 31, 1893, p. 4. Note: Consider Harrell an alternate spelling for Harrel. Charles Harrel died at the home of Jackson Strain, at McDoel, south of Bloomington, Sunday night at 8 o'clock. Mr. Harrel had been sick about three weeks, and his death is peculiarly sad. Rena, the daughter of Jackson Strain, was dangerously sick with typhoid fever, and Mr. Harrel came to the home to assist in nursing her. One morning, while at the well of a neighbor drawing water, he was overcome with something like apoplexy, and since that time he has been in a dangerous condition. Mr. Harrel was 52 years old and was a brother of John, Joseph and James Harrel, well known citizens in the south part of the county. He was not a member of any church. The remains were buried at Clear Creek Monday afternoon. Constance T.
