    1. [INMONROE] New Fairview School Has Eight Rooms
    2. Randi Richardson via
    3. Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, October 13, 1893, p. 1. The new school house on Fairview is completed and ready for use. The cost of the building, the grounds and the furniture is about $20,000. Of this amount, $17,000 has been realized by the sale of bonds, and the balance will have to be borrowed for the present. The work has been done under the supervision of Drs. (sic) Weir (difficult to read), Maj. Mulky and B. F. Adams, Jr. (difficult to read), who compose the school board, and an inspection of the building will convince anyone that they have reason to be proud of the construction as the workmanship is first-class in every respect. There are eight rooms and an office, besides the spacious hallways, and the heating will be done by the Smead system that is said to be the best. The building is a credit to the city, and considering its size, convenience and durability, has been constructed exceedingly economically. The cost of the College Avenue school building was double that of the one just completed.
