This time it’s the high cost of being barbered. The safety razor business took on a new boom the other day with the announcement from Bloomington barbers that the price of shaves go up to 20 cents, and haircuts up to 40 cents—all on account of the high cost of let’s see) – soap. Well, anyhow, this shaving business is very much a “skin game,” but the barbers have always had a pretty strong “pull,” and they may get away with it by a “close shave.” After all, raising the prices of haircuts may have been a “shear necessity.” Constance T.
