Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, October 31, 1893, p. 1. A grand birthday dinner was given by the many friends of Mrs. Carrie Kirby, wife of Dick Kirby, at Clear Creek, on Friday. If the writer should stop with the above, the occasion would not have justice done it, for to appreciate the event one would have to sit at the table that was spread by the good ladies of Clear Creek. The word "grand" doesn't express it; the word "good" only helps to convey a faint idea. There were about 40 persons present, and all enjoyed the day. When the hour of separation came, a happy good will and wish went up, that many more as pleasant days as this may come to Carrie. The success of this day was due in large measure to Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Rice and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tell. Constance T.
